Despite a turbulent crypto market—particularly difficult for the Tezos community and its XTZ token—we remained focused and committed to the core vision: building secure, trustless payment solutions. Here’s a quick look at our journey so far and a glimpse of what’s coming in 2025.

2024 Recap: Major Milestones

Etherlink Smart Rollup & Node

We successfully implemented our Etherlink Smart Rollup and Node on the Ethereum network, creating a robust foundation for cross-chain integrations and opening up new avenues for projects interested in bridging Tezos and Ethereum functionalities.

Tezos Etherlink Mainnet Deployments

In 2024, we deployed our Escrow Etherlink Smart Contracts on the mainnet and integrated them into the Smartlink Pay application. This marked a key step toward offering more seamless and trustworthy transactions in the Web3 space.

Collaboration with Nomadic Labs

A huge thank-you to the Nomadic Labs team for supporting our integration efforts. Their insights have been instrumental in refining our architecture, particularly during a period when we chose to stay silent and concentrate on strengthening our collaboration with Tezos core developers.

Navigating a Challenging Market

The crypto downturn hit Tezos especially hard. XTZ faced headwinds, but the Smartlink team took the opportunity to buckle down on technology, ensuring that when the market rebounds, we’ll be ready with robust and innovative solutions.

Etherlink: A Game Changer for 2025

Our technology advancements in 2024 paved the way for Etherlink to become a true game changer in 2025. By bridging the gap between Tezos and Ethereum, Etherlink will streamline cross-chain operations, drive utility for the SMAK token, and continue to expand the possibilities of Web3 escrow payments.

Looking Ahead to 2025

Nomadic Labs Audit

Early in 2025, Nomadic Labs plans to audit our Smartlink Etherlink Smart Contract and RPC node. This audit will validate the stability, security, and scalability of our solution.

Etherlink Node for Tezos EVM Projects

We’re making our Etherlink NODE available to any project looking to develop on Tezos EVM, ensuring developers have a reliable, high-performance backbone for their dApps.

SMAK Token Bridge & DEX Listings

We’re gearing up to build a bridge between Tezos L1 and Etherlink L2, specifically for the SMAK token. In addition, we plan to list SMAK on one or two EVM-based DEXs and provide liquidity from part of our treasury.

Marketing Strategy

Our approach remains cautious. We’ll hold off on major marketing campaigns until XTZ reaches the $3 threshold, which will likely bring more ecosystem interest and a stronger treasury for us. Until then, expect minimal but meaningful updates as we focus on real technological progress rather than over-communication.

Our Long-Run Vision

Smartlink is here for the long haul. We’re dedicated to enabling a Web3 Escrow Payment Gateway for eCommerce, empowering the future of secure, trustless transactions. We recognize that mainstream adoption of crypto and Web3 technologies takes time, discipline, and persistence.
